Iris is for people who'd love an AI that helps run their life, but don't want to hand that life to an advertising company or learn to run servers to avoid it.
What we believe
Three things, in this order.
Private can be easy.
A calm, well-made app can also be the most private one. You shouldn't have to choose between helpful and yours.
Show, don't promise.
"We respect your privacy" is what everyone says. We'd rather you can check: where Iris lives, what it remembers, and what it sends anywhere else.
You're the customer.
Iris is paid for by the people who use it. No ads, no data sales, and recommendations that aren't for sale.
Why "Iris"
The faithful messenger.
In Greek mythology, Iris was the messenger who carried words faithfully between worlds, never editorialising and never keeping them as her own. That felt like the right name for an AI that should belong to the person using it, not to us.
Hermes, the other messenger, was clever and a little slippery. He's a great name for the open-source agent runtime that does much of the work underneath Iris. But Iris's relationship with you is different: she brings you the message, waits, and carries your answer back. Every binding word is yours.
Who we are
Independent, and Australian.
Iris is made by BuySellHire Pty Ltd, an independent company in Australia. We're a small team that works alongside our own AI agents, with a person approving everything that goes out.
